The Spina Bifida Research Resource (SBRR) was a project, funded by the National Institutes of Health, to study the causes of spina bifida and anencephaly. It partnered scientists and families that are affected by these conditions. Families that joined the SBRR were asked to complete an interview and to provide blood or saliva samples for genetic studies.  Visit their site for more information.

Advice on the treatment or care of an individual patient should be obtained through consultation with a physician who has examined that patient or is familiar with that patient’s medical history.
