Dr. Nina Bakoyiannis is a clinical psychologist at SelfWorks, an adjunct assistant professor at CUNY, and a disability rights advocate. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from LIU Brooklyn, specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Her academic research uses a psychoanalytic framework to understand how the disability experience impacts mental health.
The webinar “Navigating Loneliness in the Context of Disability and Medical Challenges,” will explore the experience of loneliness, a common feeling in the disability journey that often goes unspoken. This webinar will offer insight into why loneliness arises, how it affects well-being, and practical ways to build connection and support.
